Known affected products: Synology NAS (DSM 4.0) type DS712+

  • I've had reports that certain Synology devices fail authentication unless the authentication is attempted multiple times.
  • Versions of WebDAV Nav before version 1.7 would attempt up to 4 times to authenticate before failing and prompting for a username and password
  • Version 1.7 and later include an option in the Settings page for the number of times to retry authentication. By default it no longer tries multiple times.
  • I would recommend using a setting of at least 3 to improve the chances of a successful authentication.
