Mobile RFID readers
Mobile RFID readers bring the scanner to the asset, item, or work area. Unlike fixed RFID scanners, where tagged items move past a stationary reader, mobile RFID allows field staff and mobile workers to locate, identify and update tagged items wherever the work is happening.
They are well suited to asset tracking, stocktaking, field service, maintenance inspections, warehouse operations and exception handling where items may be spread across shelves, rows, yards, vehicles, sites or customer locations.
Because RFID does not require direct line of sight, workers can scan tagged items more quickly than with barcode-only workflows, especially when items are boxed, stacked, mounted or spread across a work area.
Many industrial workflows still need both RFID and barcode scanning. RFID can rapidly identify the tagged asset or inventory item, while barcode scanning can capture serial numbers, bin locations, job cards, shipment labels or supporting documents.
Features include
- Trigger grip or side-button scanning to distinguish between barcode capture and RFID reads
- Rugged industrial devices suitable for warehouses, yards, field work, and harsh environments
- Fast tag reading with clear operator feedback for workers on the move
- Support for combined workflows where RFID identifies the item and barcode scanning captures labels, locations, or supporting documents
- Integration with web service backends using HTTP-based protocols
- Support for SAP, REST, and other enterprise backend integrations
- Practical mobile applications for handheld RFID readers, barcode scanners, and industrial mobile computers
