Tag Shark: the iPhone App That Puts Every Loyalty Card, QR Code, and NFC Tag on Your Wrist
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia - May 18, 2026
Today, Schimera Pty Ltd, an independent Australian software studio, announced the launch of Tag Shark — a barcode and NFC tag manager for iPhone and Apple Watch. Available now on the App Store, Tag Shark gives users a single, organised home for every loyalty card, membership pass, QR code, and smart NFC tag they own, accessible in seconds from their wrist or their pocket.
Most people carry far more cards than their wallet can hold. Gym memberships, coffee loyalty cards, library passes, event tickets, transit cards — the list grows while the patience for managing them shrinks. At the checkout counter, hunting for the right barcode in a sea of apps is a small but daily friction point. Meanwhile, professionals using NFC tags to trigger automations, share contact details, or unlock smart devices have no clean, unified place to store and write those tags from their iPhone. The result is a scattered, inconvenient experience that technology should have solved long ago.
Tag Shark solves this from the moment you first open it. Point your iPhone camera at any barcode — a loyalty card, a product label, a shipping sticker — and Tag Shark instantly reads and saves it. The next time you need it, raise your wrist: your Apple Watch displays the barcode ready to scan, no fumbling for your phone required. A watch complication puts your full card collection one tap away, making Tag Shark as fast at the register as a physical card — faster, in fact, because you'll never leave it at home.
"Everyone has a drawer full of plastic loyalty cards they forget to bring, and a phone full of apps they have to dig through to find the digital version," said Sean Ashton, founder of Schimera. "Tag Shark is the one place where everything lives together, synced to your watch, ready when you need it. We wanted to remove the friction entirely — not just move it to a different screen."
Tag Shark goes well beyond storing existing barcodes. Users can generate rich QR codes for URLs, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, Wi-Fi network credentials, and digital contact cards, with no technical knowledge required. Importing a contact from the iOS address book to create a shareable vCard QR code takes a single tap. Barcodes can be added manually, pasted from the clipboard, or imported from a photo shared from another app, and every card can be colour-coded for instant recognition. The full collection is alphabetically sorted and searchable, so the right card is always seconds away.
For users working with physical NFC tags, Tag Shark offers complete read and write support for the most common iOS-compatible NFC tag formats, including compact NTAG213 stickers suited to web links and phone numbers, and the larger NTAG215 tags capable of storing complete vCard contact information. Cards and barcodes can also be exported as image or SVG files for sharing via email, messages, or other apps.
Tag Shark launches as part of Schimera's growing portfolio of focused, well-crafted tools designed to eliminate small but persistent frustrations from everyday digital life. Schimera's other apps include WebDAV Navigator, Leadlight Vector, Cloaked, and Rocket Task.
